Harry Charles Dean, UPS retiree

Harry Charles Dean, 79, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus.   

Harry was born Aug. 19, 1942, in Baltimore, Md., to the late Thurman C. and Josephine Gentile Dean.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Harry Charles Dean Jr., a sister, Marlene Hass, as well as his feline friend Casper.

Harry retired from United Parcel Service, where he worked as a driver for about 22 years.  He and his wife Katherine retired to Millsboro from the Anne Arundel County, Md. area about 23 years ago.  Harry enjoyed fishing, crabbing, traveling, camping bowling, and people watching.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Katherine Dean of Millsboro; one son, Michael Dean of Glen Burnie, Md.; two brothers Thurman C. Dean Jr. of Arizona, and Robert Dean of Florida.  He was also blessed with two grandchildren, Chelsea Dean and Shelby B. Dean; as well as one great-grandson.  He also leaves behind nieces, nephews extended family, and friends.

Services will be private.
