May 19, 2022

Sussex County Vocational Technical School District’s Adult Division held a GED recognition ceremony May 3 to honor students who earned their GED from October 2019 through May 2022. Due to COVID restrictions, a ceremony could not be held in 2020 or 2021.

In all, 42 students had the opportunity to be recognized at this year’s ceremony, which was hosted by partners at the Seaford District Library. Guest speakers included Dr. Kevin Carson, superintendent of the Sussex County Vocational Technical School District, and Maureen Whelan, director of adult and prison education for the State of Delaware. Sussex Tech Adult Education holds GED classes in Georgetown, Lewes, Frankford, Seaford and Laurel.
