Movies on Dewey Beach continue with ‘Encanto’ July 11

July 6, 2022

The movies and bonfires in Dewey Beach, presented by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, are back for the 2022 summer season.

Thanks go to Weis Markets, Movies & Bonfires Sponsor, for its continued support of these weekly events, and to the Town of Dewey Beach for offering free parking from 5 to 11 p.m., Monday to Wednesday.

Movies start at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mondays, on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey Beach. Movies are donation-based; there is no admission fee. Upcoming screenings are: “Encanto,” July 11; “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” July 18; “Elf,” July 25; “Spirit Untamed,” Aug. 1; “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” Aug. 8; and “Luca,” Aug. 15.

For s’more fun, families and friends can bring beach chairs from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesdays, to Dagsworthy Avenue for a bonfire on the beach. Glow sticks and marshmallows will be available for a $1 donation while supplies last. Roasting sticks will be available and should be returned after use. Bonfires are scheduled every Wednesday through Aug. 17.

These events are weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather, cancellations will be determined on event days no later than 7 p.m. for movies, and 6 p.m. for bonfires.

Notice of cancellation will be posted to the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce Instagram and Facebook pages. For an after-hours recording, call the chamber at 302-227-2233. Staff will notify Dewey Beach accommodations of cancellations made prior to the start of an event. If weather is clear, events will take place as scheduled but may end early due to changing conditions.
