Inaugural Hair and Heels benefits CAMP Rehoboth

Benefiting CAMP Rehoboth, the inaugural Hair and Heels took place in Rehoboth Beach recently, and The Pines owner Bob Suppies said the event went fantastic.

“You never know how many people will come for your first event, but we had a lot of people come in hair and heels; some, just heels,” said Suppies, who created the new event with co-chair Christopher Smith, entertainment/event manager for The Pines. The event took place July 16-17, and served as a fundraiser for CAMP Rehoboth.

Hair and Heels comprised three events – the Hair and Heels Kick-off Party at Aqua Bar and Grill July 16; a Drag Brunch July 17; and a closing party July 17, featuring Tatianna and Kennedy Davenport, stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Suppies said he was inspired to start the event by the famous High Heel Race in Washington, D.C., which also benefits a charity.

“[I’m] always looking for fun events for Rehoboth Beach and to give back to our amazing community,” said Suppies. “I thought up the name Hair and Heels to bring wigs into it.”

Suppies said they’re already planning for next year’s event.

“It's good to have a little fun all while supporting a local charity that does so much for our area,” said Suppies.
