Delaware Humane Association and Delaware SPCA are teaming up with shelters across the country to find loving homes for companion animals as part of NBC10 Philadelphia and Telemundo 62’s Clear the Shelters campaign. Adoption fees will be half-off Saturday, Aug. 27, for all available dogs, cats, puppies and kittens. Select animals across all shelter locations will have their adoption fees fully waived as well. Folks interested in browsing all available animals may go to delawarehumane.org and delspca.org.
Prior to adoption, all animals from Delaware Humane and Delaware SPCA are spayed/neutered, given age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and examined by a vet.
Folks interested in adoption at Delaware Humane are encouraged to submit an adoption questionnaire at delawarehumane.org/adopt/how-to-adopt before visiting.
“Adoptions have slowed down over this past summer. As a result, we have hundreds of animals currently sitting in our adoption centers; some have been waiting for months,” said Patrick Carroll, Delaware Humane Association CEO. “We are hopeful that through our participation in Clear the Shelters this Saturday, families will not hesitate to come out and adopt!”
