Heidi Lowe Gallery will offer an Intro to Jewelry Class for adults and a Metals Class for kids ages 11-13 this fall. These in-person classes cover the important fundamentals of working in metal and jewelry-making in a fun, creative studio environment.
“Join us in the studio to make some jewelry and some friends this fall! Put down those screens and get your hands busy making your own jewelry in our class,” said gallery owner Heidi Lowe.
The Intro to Jewelry Class is a deeper dive into the basic skills and tools of jewelry-making. The first class project will involve making a silver chain bracelet with a toggle clasp. Students will then learn how to make their own charms using a variety of techniques, one of which will include a stone setting. Class sessions meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Thursdays, Sept. 15 to Nov. 3; the fee is $750.
Heidi Lowe Gallery includes the younger creatives by offering an eight-week Kids Metals Class for ages 11 to 13. In the gallery’s fun workshop setting, kids will make their own unique group of pendants to reflect who they are and where their interests lie. They’ll learn a variety of skills, including torch soldering, to create their own designs that will be put onto a necklace when they are finished. Class sessions meet from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 13 to Nov. 1; the cost is $375.
Heidi Lowe Gallery also teaches private classes for a family, or a small group of kids or adults. Email hello@heidlowegallery.com for details and scheduling.
