John L. Marowski, avid outdoorsman
John L. Marowski, 80, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born April 10, 1942, in Wilmington, the son of the late Joseph and Loretta (Klingler) Marowski.
A native Delawarean, John was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School located in Wilmington. He sustained a lifelong career as an insulator for Union Local 42, a job that gave him a great sense of pride and fulfillment. John was an active member of Elks Lodge 2540 and American Legion Post 17. He was an avid outdoorsman, and in his spare time, he enjoyed being near the water, boating, fishing, crabbing, clamming, and was always hopeful to land the ultimate feast. Above all, the time spent with those he held most dear was what John cherished most. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, union brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Loretta Schneider and Frances Long; and his brother, Joseph Marowski. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Edna (Popkoski) Marowski; his daughter, Diana Marowski (Tim); his sons: John D. Marowski (Patty), Mark Marowski (Bob) and Matthew Marowski (Jennifer); his grandchildren: Heather, John, Megan and Matt Marowski; his great-grandchild, Kasen Marowski; and several nieces and nephews.
John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the team at Seasons Hospice, and especially to his nurse, Sherry.
To honor John’s wishes, there will be no services.
Final Care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
