Cape girls’ basketball wins over West Catholic 51-33

The Cape girls’ basketball team took a big win over West Catholic High School (Pa.) 51-33 in the opening game of the Hoophall East at Slam Dunk to the Beach holiday showcase Dec. 26.
Three Vikings scored in double figures in the game. Faith Re led Cape with 15 points, including four three-pointers. Mya Maull lit up the net with 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Senior Ja’Onna Lee hit for 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. Freshman Amalia Fruchtman recorded seven points and six rebounds.
Sophomore Hayden Hudson was a beast on the boards, snagging 16 rebounds in the contest. She and Fruchtman teamed for five blocks.
The Vikings travel to Smyrna Tuesday, Jan. 3, to face a tough Eagles squad.
