Margo Sue Slabonik, devoted teacher

Margo Sue Slabonik, 60, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2022, at her home.
She was born July 9, 1962, in Hanover, Pa., daughter of the late Curvin and Ida (Sellers) Smith.
Margo was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., and received her master's degree from Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pa. She taught elementary education at Lower Dauphin School District in Hummelstown, Pa.
Margo was a former member of L.C.B.C. in Lancaster, Pa., and more recently at Solid Ground Church in Lewes. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels at the CHEER Center in Long Neck. Margo enjoyed reading, fishing, bowling and going to yard sales.
Margo is survived by her husband, John G. Slabonik; one son, Jacob of Millsboro; two stepdaughters, Jessica and Erin of Harrisburg, Pa.; two siblings, Marty and Cheryl; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon, Friday, Jan. 6, at Chestnut Grove Lutheran Church, 1136 Mountain Road, York Springs, Pa. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 11 a.m. Burial will be held in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Solid Ground Church, 33739 Marsh Rd., #2, Lewes, DE 19958.
