Local food drive continues thru Feb. 28
The GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club is sponsoring a winter food drive to benefit the Epworth Food Pantry and has partnered with four local organizations for food collection.
During the month of February, donations can be dropped off at: Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes; Lloyd’s Market, 611 Savannah Road, Lewes; the Edward Jones Office of Karen Wearden, 17723 Coastal Highway, Unit 4, Lewes; Blooming Boutique, 107 Second St., Lewes; Blooming Boutique, 36932 Silicato Drive, Millsboro; and Blooming Boutique Accessories, 102 Savannah Road, Lewes. As an extra incentive, Blooming Boutique owner Micha Seto is offering a $1 store certificate for every item donated at her three listed stores.
Requested food items are Spam, tuna, canned chicken, Dinty Moore beef stew, canned chili, pancake mix and syrup, potatoes and rice in pouches or boxes, baked beans, boxed pasta and sauce in plastic containers, ramen, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, peanut butter, and jams and jellies. Also needed are full-size containers of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, hats, scarves, gloves, socks, paper towels, tissues, toilet paper and metal hand-operated can openers.
The Epworth Food Pantry is open to those in need of food from 1 to 3 p.m., Sundays; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesdays; and 2 to 4 p.m., Thursdays at 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
