Reading the Gazette with the camels in the ancient city of Petra

In November, Harris Marx and Barbara Woods of Lewes enjoyed a cruise through parts of the Middle East. While on their cruise, they visited the Unesco World Heritage site of Petra in southern Jordan. Petra is a rock-carved, ancient city sprawling over 100 square miles, about four times the size of Manhattan. The city remains 85% buried underground, and unfortunately, there was no sighting of Indiana Jones!
