William Morrison Lux III, proud veteran
William "Bill" Morrison Lux III, 61, of Milton, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 2, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born Oct. 20, 1961, in Darby, Pa., son of William M. Lux Jr. and Janet E. (Almeida) Lux.
Bill was a 1979 graduate of West Chester East High School. He continued his studies at West Chester University, obtaining a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Bill was a proud veteran having honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard in Philadelphia, Pa., retiring as a chief petty officer. He enjoyed a lengthy career as a probation and parole officer for the State of Delaware. Bill married the love of his life, Alice M. Lux, Oct. 10, 1992, in Millersville, Pa., and together they shared many beautiful years and memories. He was an avid outdoorsman and was in his element doing anything in nature, be it hunting, fishing, or relaxing on the beach. Bill enjoyed boating and riding his bike as well. He loved sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and many friends. Bill could often be found restoring classic cars, an activity that brought him great joy. An enthusiastic sports fan, he loved coaching baseball and soccer. His devotion to his family, however, took precedence above all. Bill was nothing less than a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by so many and will be forever missed.
In addition to his parents, Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Alice Marie Lux of Milton; his children, Jessica Parker (Joshua) and Kyle Lux of Delaware; his granddaughter, Aubrey Leigh; his brother, David Lux of Pennsylvania; his aunts and uncles; his nieces and nephews; his cousins; and his mother-in-law, Louise Terrill of Pennsylvania.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 2 p.m. The family is requesting attendees to wear purple in honor of pancreatic cancer awareness.
