Big Chill Surf Cantina will celebrate its Cinco Days of Cinco from Wednesday, May 3 to Sunday, May 7, at 19406 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach. Guests will experience five days and five nights filled with live music and entertainment, giveaways and drink specials.
“Cinco de Mayo is our favorite holiday to celebrate at the cantina,” said AJ Borrero, bar manager. “We knew that the excitement and energy of Cinco couldn’t just be contained into one day, so we decided to spread the celebration out over a five-day span. We love seeing old and new faces come to the bar to join in on the festivities each day.”
A drag show hosted by Tyra Parker is set for 9 to 11 p.m., May 3, and is free to attend.
Everyone’s favorite local band Hot Sauce will play live on the patio from 7 to 10 p.m., Thursday, May 4, for Cinco de Mayo Eve.
Big Chill Surf Cantina will celebrate Cinco de Mayo all day starting at 12 p.m., Friday, May 5. Margarita specials will be running throughout the early afternoon followed by a parking lot party from 4 to 8 p.m. A mechanical bull-riding contest will be held with a $200 cash prize. DJ Gregg will entertain the crowd from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by Troll Tribe from 8 to 11 p.m. SmashMouth Burgers and Taco Reho food trucks will be in attendance. A portion of proceeds from Cinco de Mayo will be donated to the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays.
The cantina will also host a Kentucky Derby party Saturday, May 6. Guests are encouraged to participate in a 50/50 raffle for their chance to win two tickets to the Woodford Reserve tent at the Winterthur Point-to-Point Steeplechase Sunday, May 7. Proceeds from the 50/50 will be donated to the Center for the Inland Bays. The festivities will continue into the evening with Lunch Box performing from 8 to 11 p.m.
Lower Case Blues will be back for Sunday Beach Daze from 4 to 7 p.m., May 7. Guests can enjoy killer tunes and special drink prices.
