Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland
We're just a few days now from Memorial Day Weekend and the start of the 2023 summer season at the Delaware and Maryland beaches, and the events calendars are really kicking into high gear.
We've got a nice selection of things to tell you about this week in locations from Wilmington to the north all the way to Ocean City, Maryland, to the south. And a whole lot of areas in between.
It should be a great weekend to get outside and enjoy all that the region has to offer.
So let's get right to it, shall we? Here are the Oldfather Group's top choices for the weekend of May 19-21...
Cruisin' Ocean City (May 18-21)
This is the 32nd year for this popular late spring event in Ocean City, which takes place from Thursday, May 18, until Sunday, May 21. More than 3,000 hot rods, custom cars, and popular classics are expected in 2023 at several locations throughout the resort.
Main events will take place at both the Inlet Parking Lot and at the Ocean City Convention Center. Scheduled events and activities will include boardwalk parades, live entertainment, special guests, and a lot more.
Ticket prices are $15 from Thursday-Saturday or $10 on Sunday. A four-day wristband can be purchased for $45.

Lewes Maritime Day (May 20)
To be held in Canalfront Park on Pilottown Road in Lewes, this event is a celebration of Lewes' maritime history. The event kicks off at 10 a.m., with an opening ceremony that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Lightship Overfalls arriving in Lewes.
Other activities will include boat tours, vendor exhibits, and various demonstrations.

Rehoboth Arts Festival (May 20)
Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, May 20, this event is co-sponsored by the Rehoboth Art League and the City of Rehoboth Beach. The festival will be held in Grove Park with artists showcasing and selling their work throughout the course of the day.
