Blue defeats Gold 6-4 in senior boys’ soccer game

The 2023 Blue-Gold Senior Soccer Game took to the turf of Cape’s Legends Stadium June 10 for an annual final battle for high school bragging rights. The Blue team outlasted Gold by a 6-4 score.
Indian River’s Jordan Illian scored two goals for the Blue, including a 60-yard boot from the midfield. His teammate Caleb Galbreath also scored once, along with Cape’s Niko Panyko and Dru Schneider, and Tatnall’s Jimmy Kulengusky.
The Gold squad was paced by Caravel’s Michael Cooke, who scored a hat trick, and fellow Buccaneer Miles Hood with a single goal.
Illian was voted MVP for the Blue squad, while Cooke was voted Gold MVP.
