James H. Trask, enjoyed travel

James H. “Jim” Trask, 89, successful engineer and dedicated family man, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday, April 15, 2012.

Jim served as a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps campaigns in North Africa and Italy during World War II. He was a 1948 honors graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in chemical engineering. During his 33-year career with Hercules Inc., Jim, a senior process engineer, traveled throughout the United States and around the world. He retired in 1984.

Jim resided in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for over 50 years. He enjoyed travel, photography, summers at Rehoboth and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine “Cay” Trask; his seven children, James H. Jr. (Frances Hammond), William S. (Karen), Thomas B. (Jean), Richard F. (Bahira), Linda E. Trask (Edward Broadbelt), Theresa A. Quaintance (Douglas), and Patricia M. Peacock (R. Scott); 15 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 21, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4701 Weldin Road, Wilmington. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery following the Mass.
