At the peak of July's heat wave, Cathy and Greg Loose of Lewes escaped to the cool of Northern Europe, visiting Denmark, Finland and Estonia. Some highlights of their 12-day trip included walking along Nyhavn, Copenhagen's 17th-century waterfront canal, exploring Tallinn's medieval city center, and sampling reindeer kebabs in Helsinki. As is typical during Scandinavian summers, where the days can last up to 19 hours, Greg, Cathy and their family enjoyed many hours of sunlight, allowing them to maximize their time exploring all that the cities have to offer and catching up on the Cape Gazette! Here Cathy and Greg are shown reading the paper at Viru Gates of Tallinn.
