Charles I. Blizzard Jr., veteran, Chrysler retiree
Charles I. Blizzard Jr., 84, fondly known to friends and family as Sonny, passed away Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine I. Blizzard; and his parents, Charles I. Blizzard and the late Mary Blizzard. Charles is survived by sons, David Blizzard (wife Caryn) and John Blizzard; his furry granddaughter, Gypsy; and members of his extended family. Charles was brother to the late Shirley Kardos, Barbara Chomo and William Blizzard.
Charles honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, as a cook. He proudly worked at Chrysler for over 30 years. Charles was an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, serving in many leadership positions.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may gather after 10 a.m. Internment will follow at Camden Odd Fellows Cemetery.
