Tower Beach Football Club’s Youth Futsal League is providing younger soccer players with an activity to hone their skills during the winter months. The league plays Sunday mornings in the Cape Henlopen High School gymnasium.
“I want to provide an opportunity for the kids to just play and get their foot on the ball,” said league director Patrick Kilby. “The winter months are considered downtime from their club teams and school teams. This is a platform that gives them an hour a week to play against competition in an organized and structured setting.”
“I like that we can work together and move the ball and get experience playing soccer,” said 9-year-old defender Millie Alleman. “I’m learning a lot of skills that I need, and I like the team I’m on.”
“I really like this league because I get to play with my friends,” said 9-year-old Brody Gaudiosi. “I like the fast pace of the indoor play.”
