Sussex Gardeners bouquets help kids in need honor mothers

May 15, 2024

Sussex Gardeners continued its tradition of providing young children in a homeless shelter a means of honoring their moms on Mother’s Day.

Under the leadership of co-chairs Joan Boraski and Abbe Barbato, the youth and garden therapy committees combined their talents to create 30 fresh flower bouquets so each mom could receive a gift from her children.

Nine Sussex Gardeners met May 10 to prepare the spring bouquets. The fresh flowers were purchased by Sussex Gardeners, and the greens were from members’ gardens. The finished products were delivered to Lighthouse for Broken Wings.
