Mental Health Alternatives series for tweens kicks off July 8
Mental Health Alternatives Inc. is offering a groundbreaking summer series tailored specifically for tweens and teens. With a focus on holistic mental health, the program integrates a variety of activities designed to promote emotional and physical well-being in a fun and engaging environment.
Sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Mondays, July 8, July 22, July 29 and Aug. 5 at Lewes Public Library. Each gathering includes activities that combine physical, mental and emotional practices.
Highlights include: yoga and mindfulness techniques to enhance focus, reduce stress and promote a sense of calm; crystal bracelet making for healing and emotional balance; developing skills for positive self-expression and self-reflection through journaling; guided nature walks and forest bathing to connect with the environment, and promote grounding and inner peace; interactive lessons on healing foods and their benefits for nutrition and mental health; and empowering youth with effective coping strategies.
MHA co-founders Elizabeth Sanchez, Amy Casas and Diane Winiarczyk expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming series.
“We are thrilled to offer this unique program that combines physical, mental and emotional practices,” said Sanchez. “Our goal is to provide teens and tweens with practical tools and techniques to manage stress and enhance their overall well-being in a fun and supportive environment.”
Each session will be led by experienced practitioners who are passionate about empowering youth. The program aims to build lifelong skills, foster a sense of community, and provide a safe space for young people to explore new ways of maintaining mental and emotional health.
Spaces are limited, and early registration is encouraged. Participants can sign up for individual sessions or the entire series at a discounted rate. For more information and to register, go to mentalhealthalternatives.org.
