Alday Bruce Andrews, retired engineer
Alday Bruce Andrews, 67, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Brandywine Assisted Living, Rehoboth Beach, after a long illness. He was born Wednesday, April 3, 1957, in Woodbury, N.J., son of the late Alday Bishop Andrews and Lois Burns Andrews, who resides in Wilmington, N.C.
Bruce retired in September 2018 after 40 years as an engineer with the DuPont Company, Chambers Works in Deepwater, N.J. Following retirement, he and his wife, Beth, moved to Rehoboth Beach, where they built their dream home and looked forward to enjoying all that Rehoboth has to offer.
In addition to his mother, Bruce is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Elizabeth; his children, Alex Andrews (Kat) of Harleysville, Pa., and Brittany Andrews of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a brother, Dave Andrews (Wendy) of Wilmington, N.C.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 18, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. The family would like everyone in attendance to wear bright, colorful attire as Bruce would want this to be a celebration.
