“Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” That is the oath of the Special Olympics, and anyone would be hard pressed to find a community that embodies that oath more than The Four Seasons at Belle Terre near Lewes. Special Olympians Robyn Campione, Eddie Drake and David Peronti reside there, and together with Tori Moore and Conner Lawson, they took part in an Aug. 2 opening ceremony that started off a full weekend embodying a spirit of unity and perseverance.
In addition to synchronized swimming performances, Olympic trivia, a ping-pong shootout and multiple food trucks, there was a silent auction, all of which netted a total of $9,400 for Special Olympics Delaware.

Special Olympians and their partners line up for some announcements. Shown in back are partners (l-r) Robin Delgado, Wendy Gee, Graham Upton, Patty Smalley and Denis Sternberg.
