Vincent Joseph Monachello, loving husband, father

Vincent Joseph Monachello, 86, of Lewes, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024.

He was born on April 15, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to his parents Charles and Josephine Monachello. Vincent served in the U.S. Army and worked as a quality control engineer. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, baseball memorabilia, and crossword puzzles. Vincent loved watching and attending both baseball and football games with his family. He also enjoyed large family outings and had a passion for good Italian food. 

Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret Ann Monachello (Bartosh); son, Vincent Joseph Monachello Jr. and wife Lisa; daughter, Patricia Ann Lawlor and husband Patrick; daughter, Mariann Holohan and husband Stephen; son, Michael Paul Monachello, and son, Stephen Joseph Monachello and wife Amanda. Vincent was blessed with nine grandchildren, Natalia, Lisa, Allison, Jonathan, Taylor, Nicole, Joseph, Gracie Jo and Colleen; four great-grandchildren, Gabbi, Vivian, Jianna and Madden; along with his brother, Charles Monachello; two sisters, Ida Massinello and Josephine Monachello; and several nieces and nephews.

Vincent’s family will honor his memory with a private family service.
