Lewes BPW urges residents to keep electrical equipment clear

Lewes Board of Public Works is reminding residents to ensure clear access to essential electrical equipment around their properties.

BPW says recent inspections have revealed obstructions, such as trees, shrubs and fences, are blocking infrastructure.

They say this poses a safety risk and can hinder timely maintenance and repair during power outages.

The BPW Electric Tariff requires residents maintain a clear access area of 3 feet on all sides and 10 feet in front of pad-mounted equipment.

Residents are requested to remove any obstructions by Dec. 1.

Failure to do so will result in Lewes BPW taking necessary actions to clear non-compliant items.

For questions or concerns, contact Lewes BPW at 302-645-6228.
