I changed my life and you can too!

December 13, 2024

In 2020, I became flat-out sick and tired of being sick and tired. After battling degenerative disc disease for eight years, I had let my spine problems get the best of me and gave up on myself. I had lost all confidence in getting my life and health back in order. I was obese, depressed, severely addicted to alcohol, and faced numerous serious health issues that were rapidly spiraling out of control with no end in sight. Normal daily activities were extremely difficult, and it seemed like the pain was just going to be my life.

It wasn’t just a decision I made; it was a commitment to myself to take control of the situation and make my health my top priority. I sought help for my issues with alcohol, worked on repairing my back, and started fueling my body with proper nutrients. I stopped focusing on what I couldn’t do and started focusing on what I could do—small, sustainable changes that I could replicate every day. To start, I could only walk for about 10 minutes at a time, which I did 2-3 times a day. Pretty quickly, the minutes turned into miles, and my walking program became the foundation of my journey back to wellness. Walking is nature's back balm, and movement became my medicine—not just for my physical ailments but for my mental health as well. The weight started falling off, and I began strengthening my core and the muscles surrounding my spine. I used resistance bands to target the rest of my body. I lost the majority of the roughly 130 pounds of total weight before ever stepping foot in a gym. Hesitant about injury and derailing my progress, I started with just machines and very light weights. I applied ruthless consistency to my workouts and daily habits, and my body responded accordingly. Not only did I lose over 130 pounds of body fat, but I’ve also continued improving my body and health over the past four years. Life can be difficult, and there are a million reasons why we let our health deteriorate, but you don’t have to accept it and live that way. You have the power to take control of your health and change the way you live. You don’t need weight-loss drugs, supplements, a complicated workout routine, or even a gym membership. You just need the right tools and accountability to get you there. My mission is to help people who want to make that change and become the best version of themselves. If you want to get started on becoming the best you can be and improving your life, you can reach me at trevorcostellofitness@gmail.com. If I can do it, so can you.
