The Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Public Library hostedSippin’ in the Stacks, its annual donor appreciation party Oct. 4 at the library.
The event is a way for the library’s friends group to show appreciation for the continued support. The group also unveiled the newest names on the Lifelong Friends plaque – a donation made in the memory of Jerry McCoy, Bonnie and John Staffier, Joni Reich, and Ruth Ann and Jeff Zerby.
The Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Public Library is a nonprofit civic organization focused entirely on supporting the library. Established in 1991, the group supports the library in a number of ways, including, but not limited to, fundraising to exclusively benefit the library and supplying 100% the cost of every new book, DVD, CD, magazine, newspaper and enrichment program.
During the event, library board President Kay Wheatley updated everyone on the progress of the renovation for the downtown location. She said responses to the library’s request for proposal related to a project manager are due Friday, Nov. 1, with the plan of picking a project manager by Thanksgiving.
