Earl Lingo, DuPont retiree
Earl Lingo, 91, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Beebe Healthcare. He was born in Long Neck to Clifford E. and Julia Steen Lingo. Earl lived a life full of love and laughter.
He was predeceased by his brother, Clifford Earl Lingo Jr.; and sisters, Katherine Lingo Hamilton and Doris Lingo Williamson. Earl is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Ann Lingo; his children, Debbie Steele (David) and Joan Tyndall (Sonny); and his cherished grandchildren, Kristy Rogers (Neil), Shaun Tyndall (Jessica), Julia Tyndall and Jerrad Steele (Melissa). He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Austin, Liam and Ella Tyndall; as well as two nephews, Doug Milner and Charles Zonko.
Earl began his career on the Lingo family farm, then worked for John Rogers Construction, Sealtest Milk Co., and spent 25 years with the DuPont Company, from which he retired.
An avid fisherman and crabbing enthusiast, Earl enjoyed clamming, playing horseshoes, and the 39 wonderful years he spent at Estero Island Beach Club in Fort Myers Beach, Fla. He was known for his exceptional storytelling, captivating family and friends with his tales.
Earl will be remembered for his kind heart, vibrant spirit, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 S Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
