Yaya Sport opens in Millsboro

La Plaza Delaware and Delaware Alliance of Latino Entrepreneurs representatives recently gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Yaya Sport, 202 Main St., Millsboro.

The new store sells soccer apparel, gear and accessories. It also offers personalized uniforms for teams.

Owners Sindy Carrillo and Vinicio López, both from Guatemala, opened their doors to friends, family and sporting fans. Catering was provided by My Sister's Fault in Milford, and Luli's Creations of Georgetown arranged the decor. All three businesses are members of ¡DALE! 

Soccer commentator Kevin Santizo of Eventos Internacional Georgetown broadcast live during the event, and joyful music played throughout the celebration.

Mary Dupont, executive director of La Plaza Delaware, said it is a joy to see the growth of Latino-owned businesses in Delaware and expressed La Plaza Delaware's ongoing commitment to helping entrepreneurs thrive.

La Plaza Delaware offers business classes; one-on-one financial, marketing and business coaching; leadership courses; and industry-specific certifications.
