The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company is supporting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign by using one of its reserve vehicles for a Stuff the Ambulance campaign.
Volunteers will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at the following locations and times: Dewey Beer Co., 3 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2100 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach; Buffalo Wild Wings, 12 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 19446 Coastal Hwy., Rehoboth Beach; and Walmart, 12 to 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, at 18922 Rehoboth Mall Blvd., Rehoboth Beach.
During the Rehoboth Beach Hometown Christmas Parade starting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, firefighters will be walking alongside the fire company float to collect toys from guests along the route. After donating a toy and enjoying the parade, everyone is invited to stop by the fire station on Rehoboth Avenue for refreshments and an opportunity for children to visit Santa Claus.
Donors who are unable to attend any of the above events may drop off toys through Sunday, Dec. 15, at RBVFC Station 1, 219 Rehoboth Ave., or at RBVFC Station 2, 36027 Airport Road, Rehoboth Beach.
There is no rain date for the parade. In the event of inclement weather, a decision to cancel the parade will be made after 12 p.m. on event day. Information will be posted at rehobothbeachfire.com and sent to local media outlets when any decisions are made.
