HomeWell hosts Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Georgetown

To help its caregivers with the struggles caused by rising grocery prices and to support others in the community, HomeWell Care Services Delaware gave out 300 free frozen turkeys and boxes of nonperishable sides Nov. 23.

HomeWell caregivers and others in the local community who were nominated as recipients stopped by HomeWell’s offices in Georgetown and Smyrna to pick up their free turkey dinners. Some HomeWell employees also delivered frozen turkeys and meal boxes to local homes, businesses and charitable organizations like the Shepherd’s Office in Georgetown.

“Giving away the turkey dinners just before the Thanksgiving holiday was my token of appreciation to our caregivers, and it always feels good to support the communities we serve with humanitarian efforts like this,” said Will Childers, owner of HomeWell Care Services Delaware. “There is no bigger blessing than being a blessing to someone else. And that’s what this holiday season is all about.”
