International Delaware magazine touts state as trade gateway
World Trade Center Delaware, an international business resource for First State companies, announced the release of its 2024 International Delaware magazine, marking its eighth edition.
This year's theme highlights Delaware's critical role as the eastern gateway to the United States. Gracing the cover is a photograph of the Kalmar Nyckel, a replica of the ship that first brought colonists to establish New Sweden. The symbolic imagery underscores Delaware's long-standing maritime and trade heritage dating to 1638.
Emphasizing the state's strategic importance, Carla Stone, president of World Trade Center Delaware, said, "Delaware is the eastern gateway to the United States, positioned midway between New York City and Washington, D.C., providing unparalleled access to both the political and business capitals of the U.S.”
In the 12 months ending in June 2024, WTC Delaware provided critical support to 335 individuals and organizations, creating economic opportunities and promoting business development for companies across the state.
WTC Delaware helps companies expand their business, leading to increased revenue, improved profitability, and more and higher-paid employees contributing to the state’s economic growth. As a collaborating partner in Delaware for the U.S. International Trade Administration, WTC Delaware educates the public about trade, inward business investment and strengthening U.S. supply chains critical to economic competitiveness, creating opportunities for individuals and businesses to compete internationally.
