Leslie E. Bissell, loving husband, grandfather
Leslie “Les” E. Bissell, 78, of Dagsboro, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Les was born May 26, 1946, to the late Leslie A. Bissell and Grace (Barrell) Bissell in Reading, Pa. He was a wonderful and quiet man, loved by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Les enjoyed boating and camping with family, and hunting with his sons. He strived to attend every sporting event for his grandchildren.
Les graduated from Mount Penn High School Class of 1964. He joined the Army Reserves in 1966 and served until honorably discharged in 1972. Les retired from Continental Can/Sunoco in 1991 and moved to Delaware. While retired, he kept busy doing odd jobs and was always helping others. However, his most beloved job was being a school bus driver. He loved his students and their families, and would often attend their events outside of school hours because everyone loved Mr. Les!
Les is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Tess Bissell (Pry), his sons, Todd Bissell of Rochester, N.Y., James Bissell (Robbin) of Kempton, Pa., Michael Bissell (Sheena) of Temple, Pa., and Jared Bissell (Candice) of Lenhartsville, Pa.; and stepdaughter, Bridgette Perrotta (Steve) of Lewes. He was also a loving grandfather to all his grandchildren, whom he loved so much, Anthony, Sara and Annmarie Perrotta, and Alivia, Michael, Paige, Jack, Emily and Natalie Bissell; and of course, his loving dog, Terry. Les is also survived by his brother, Dennis Bissell (Kathy) of Laurel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Bissell.
