Georgetown Aid donates to Georgetown Presbyterian Church

Funds will be used to help homeless during winter months
November 11, 2012

Representatives of the Georgetown Aid Inc. Board of Directors presented a check in the amount of $1,200 to the Georgetown Presbyterian Church Oct. 26.  The gift will be used to provide shower facilities for the homeless population during inclement weather.

President Ramona Anderson said, “The opportunity to donate these funds is another example of the support provided throughout our community by Georgetown Aid.”

Georgetown Aid, founded in 1978, helps needy individuals by providing shelter, clothing and utility assistance in Georgetown. The organization operates the Robin Hood Thrift Shop at 201 Cedar St. in Georgetown. Through sales of donated clothing and household goods, the proceeds are returned back into the community through various forms of assistance.

The Georgetown Presbyterian Church provides emergency shelter to those in need during inclement weather and when the temperature drops below freezing.
