The Rehoboth Art League kicked off its 41st Annual Outdoor Fine Art & Fine CraftShow Aug. 9-10 on its historic wooded campus in Henlopen Acres. More than 130 artists were on hand to display and sell their fine art on the first weekend of the two-weekend show.
The show features a wide range of media on display and for sale including: ceramics, glass, painting, jewelry, wood, sculpture, metal, fiber art and photography, RAL Executive Director Sheila Bravo said attendance was up from last year and she was happy to see friends and supporters of RAL throughout the show. New this year is a guided tour of the campus led by Bravo at 2 p.m. each day.
There is also a bier garden, sponsored by Dogfish Head Brewery in the gardens behind the Homestead, as well as art demonstrations, face painting, musical entertainment and plenty of great food available in various areas of the campus. Nage and The Point will provide lunch and refreshments and other goodies.

Saturday, Aug. 16: Robert Yu/piano in the Corkran, 11: a.m. to 1 p.m.; pottery demos-near Chambers Studios, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Pam Foss - Styrofoam sculpture demo by the Children’s Studio, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Face painting by artist Sherry Biele, booth 62, 1 to 4 p.m.; Tim Parrot/DJ and DPR tent at the Bier Garten in the Homestead Garden, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Mike McShane/Shore Jazz in the Memorial Garden, 2 to 2:45 p.m.; Tour of the Art League, meet at Paynters Studio with RAL Director Sheila Bravo, 2 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 17: Harry Charles/Guitarist/Folk in the Memorial Garden, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Pottery demos, near Chambers Studios, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Chris Johnson/piano in the Corkran, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Styrofoam sculpture demo, by Children’s Studio, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Face painting by artist Sherry Biele, booth 62, noon to 3 p.m.; Roo Brown and Mixed Blessings/acappella, 1-3 p.m.; Bier Garten in the Homestead Garden, 1 to 3 p.m.; Marv Ashby/Blue Grass in the Memorial Garden, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; Tour of the Art League-meet at Paynters Studio, 2 p.m.
Some of the artists only participated for one week so many new artists will be at the show 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 17. Admission is $5 per person, with children under 12 free. A free shuttle is available from the Kmart parking lot on Route 1 and Rehoboth Elementary School on Stockley Street.
