Artist Alan B. Tuttle will open his studio to the public for one day only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 20. The studio is in Reserves at Lewes Landing at the junction of Route 9 and Minos Conaway Road, 18413 Dunes Way, Lewes, 302-752-8667. This is normally a private working studio which is not open to the public.
Tuttle is an oil painter largely focused in realism, and a sculptor of bronze, steel and hammered copper. He recently made Lewes his primary residence after he and his partner built a new home to accommodate his studios. He shares his time painting between Delaware, which he is just discovering, and northern New York, including the Adirondacks and Thousand Island region, where he has a home and studio as well.
Though relatively unknown in Delaware, he has been refining his skills for the past 35 years in New York and California. In 2011, Tuttle presented more than 100 works at the Rehoboth Art League, and in the same year he presented his public art project at The Jefferson School and Cape Henlopen High School.
