Tidewater Utilities Golf Tournament raises funds for Delaware veterans
Tidewater Utilities Inc. recently presented a check from the proceeds raised from its Seventh Annual Charitable Golf Tournament to four Delaware organizations that support Delaware veterans: Friends of Delaware Veterans, USO Delaware, Delaware Veterans Home and Sussex County Habitat for Humanity Veteran Build.
The outing was held Aug. 11 at Heritage Shores Golf Course in Bridgeville. Tidewater presented a check for $15,865, which will be divided among the four beneficiary organizations.
“This was a record year for our tournament in terms of funds raised. We are delighted and honored that the proceeds will help support those who sacrificed for our country,” said Jerry Esposito, president, Tidewater Utilities Inc. “In addition, we thank all those who supported the outing. Their commitment to this annual fundraiser demonstrates their desire to help others and build stronger communities.”
"We are truly grateful for this wonderful contribution to Delaware veterans who have served honorably but who have fallen on hard times. This generous outreach by Tidewater Utilities will go a long way toward helping a great many of our heroes," said Dave Skocik, Delaware Veterans Trust Fund.
Major sponsors for the tournament included George & Lynch Inc.; IG Burton Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep; and Sensus Metering.
