Red Dresses to be featured at Saturday Before the Season Nov. 22
The annual Delaware Tech Fashion Show has always been the destination of choice for stylish local fashion, and this year it will become even more elegant with the addition of the Red Dress Collection from The Heart Truth.
The Saturday Before the Season event on Saturday, Nov. 22 includes the seventh annual Fashion Show with the Red Dress collection display, as well as the second year of The Village Shoppes, which has expanded to provide local, pre-holiday shopping through three buildings on campus.
The Red Dress was introduced as the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness in 2002. The red dresses that will be on display near the entrance to the fashion show have been worn by celebrities such as Christie Brinkley, Robin Roberts, Valerie Bertinelli, and Kendall Jenner.
The fashion show will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Carter Partnership Center. The $35 ticket includes a pre-show reception. All proceeds from the show benefit international education programs at Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus. Funds raised from the event support study abroad scholarships for students, as well as the Global Understanding Series, a series of workshops and presentations open to students and the community for free.
The Village Shoppes is a shopping bazaar that starts in the Student Services Center and continues through the Stephen J. Betze Library and the Arts & Science Center. It will be open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with no charge for admission. In addition to offering shoppers the chance to enjoy many regional boutiques and restaurants, there will be a variety of other activities such as a spa room and a “man cave.”
The Fashion Show each year is the result of hard work by a committee of dedicated volunteers and Delaware Tech staff members. This year’s committee chairwoman is Rozi Berberian with Robert Sessa as vice chairman.
