New Cape scoreboard ready for Homecoming

board replaced with digital
October 14, 2014

Cape High is putting the finishing touches on its new football stadium scoreboard for its Homecoming game debut Friday, Oct. 17.

"It is supposed to be ready to go this Friday but I am hoping to have a trial run in the next few days," said Bob Cilento, athletic director for Cape Henlopen High School.

The district spent about $200,000 on the board that included some upgrade to electric wiring. The new scoreboard replaces the previous scoreboard that had been used for the past 30 years.

Scoreboard maker Daktronics created the board with space for video, if the district decides to add it in the future.
