Sussex realtors' association hires new IT professional

November 19, 2014

The Sussex County Association of Realtors announced recently the hiring of Georgetown resident Ben Kunde to handle the organization's information technology efforts.

A 2000 graduate of Sussex Technical High School, Kunde comes to SCAOR after a stint with the Coastal Association of Realtors in Berlin, Md., where he worked in a similar capacity. He is also a small business owner specializing in information technology and network administration. Kunde began his new position Nov. 3.

“I couldn't be happier to start my new job here at SCAOR. It's in my field of expertise and just a few miles from my family home so, needless to say, I'm very pleased and excited to be here,” says Kunde, who is married with a young son. “It's really kind of a dream scenario for me as I further my career here in Sussex County.”

Kunde was chosen from a diverse field of applicants for the new position, and he will focus on improving the association's website management and anything else that falls under the heading of information technology.

He specialized in electronics at Sussex Tech and also studied microcomputers and networking at the Jack F. Owens Campus of Delaware Technical & Community College from 2000-02.

“We are happy to have Ben on board and look forward to great things from him moving forward,” says Brad Riedle, 2014 president of SCAOR. “This is a position we felt we needed to add to the association, and we were glad to find such a qualified applicant so close to home. We feel Ben's hiring is a good fit, both for him and for us.”

The Sussex County Association of Realtors was chartered in 1949 and has steadily grown in size, scope and mission during its 61 years in Sussex County. It is a professional trade association with goals of carrying out a program of education and advocacy for real estate in the county.

SCAOR is a resource for the public, as well as a recognized advocate for property rights and property owners in Sussex County. The association also monitors legislative issues on the local, state and national levels that may impact home ownership in the area.
