Virginia 'Ginny' Stamper, retired nurse

Virginia “Ginny” D. Stamper, 84, of Lewes, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at her residence surrounded by love and support of hospice, family and friends. She was born March 3, 1930, in Milton, daughter of the late Eldridge and Mildred Boyce Donovan.

Mrs. Stamper graduated from Milford Hospital nursing school. Following her graduation, she embarked on a lifelong career as a Registered Nurse at Milford Hospital, retiring as an operating room supervisor. Mrs. Stamper was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Juel C. Stamper; a daughter, Jewel Bullins; a sister-in-law, Gladys Donovan; and a grandson, Donald R. Martin. She is survived by her two daughter, Tiffany Stamper and Frances Hauer and her husband Jim; two brothers, Russell Donovan and Frank Donovan and his wife LouAnne; three grandchildren: Dean Martin and his wife Robin, Angela Hickson and her husband Tim and Alisha Smith; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved canine friend, Dolly.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow funeral services at Epworth Methodist Cemetery in Rehoboth Beach.
