CHEF appoints Rehoboth businesswoman as new development director
Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation recently announced the appointment of Alyssa Titus of Rehoboth Beach as its new development director.
Titus has been the owner of Azura Clothing in Rehoboth Beach since 2001 and is very active in local business and nonprofit initiatives. A past president and current board member of Rehoboth Beach Main Street, she created two large annual events, Get Down in Town and Cocoa Crawl, which promote Rehoboth businesses and benefit local nonprofit organizations. She also supervised Main Street’s large sponsor events, including the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Community Unity.
Titus’s other civic projects include the Meals on Wheels Celebrity Chefs’ Beach Brunch (former chair) and the 25th anniversary of the Chocolate Festival in March 2015. She is a board member of the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society and a committee member of the Historical Society Beach Ball.
Before moving to Rehoboth Beach, Titus was CEO and head designer of Aly-Wear Inc. in Ephrata, Pa., where she developed products for retailers including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom’s, L.L. Bean and Bloomingdale’s.
A graduate of Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, Titus lives in Rehoboth Beach with her husband Andy and children Dru, Reagan and Milena.
“Alyssa Titus is a dynamic and highly respected businesswoman and community leader, and we are delighted she is joining us,” said CHEF President Rick Grier Reynolds. “Alyssa will help us expand our efforts to raise funds for innovative educational programs at our eight Cape schools.”
Since 2006, CHEF has funded over 150 teacher grant requests, as well as performing arts scholarships, and anti-bullying and homeless programs totaling more than $95,000 in educational aid.
