The Beacon Choir, led by Juleeann Schlitter, performed at Beacon Middle School Dec. 8.

The band concert featured 131 student musicians from the sixth, seventh and eighth grades, and a variety of soloists. Selections included “Rock a Saurus Rex,” “Midnight Mission,” and “Chopsticks for Christmas” (from the sixth grade); “Soul Man,” “Integrity,” “Celebration of Chanukah,” “Whirlwind,” and “Train Heading West” (from the seventh grade); and “Aces of the Air,” “The Headless Horseman,” “Forest Green,” and “…And to All a Good Night” (from the eighth grade).

The Beacon Choir showcased the vocal talents of approximately 140 students, including soloists from each grade. Concert highlights included selections from "Frozen" and other holiday favorites such as “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Believe,” and “Jingle Bell Rock.

“All of us at Beacon Middle School are proud of the many musical students in both our band and choir programs,” said Principal Dave Frederick.
