Maggio Shields Real Estate top agents set sail to keep learning

February 7, 2015

Top Maggio Shields agents Mary Ann Slinkman, Deb Griffin and Tony Mongello, joined by their broker, Joe Maggio, will set sail Friday, Feb. 13, on an eight-day Caribbean cruise, courtesy of their brokerage Maggio Shields Real Estate.

The Sussex County Board of Realtors had offered the cruise as an opportunity for agents to complete all of their continuing education requirements with an option to receive their Accredited Buyer’s Representative designation as well.

Broker Joe Maggio opted to gift his top agents for 2014 a free ticket for the cruise as a way to thank them for all their hard work. The brokerage also recognizes Kim Hitchens as a top agent for 2014. Hitchens had a scheduling conflict and was unable to make the cruise.

Mary Ann Slinkman has been a Realtor since 1996 and is very active as the fundraising chair for Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth. She is the recipient of the 2008 Governor's Volunteer Award for the State of Delaware for her volunteer work. Slinkman donates 5 percent of her commissions to Meals on Wheels hence her slogan, "I'Il sell real estate for food."

Realtor Deb Griffin, associate broker, CRS, e-PRO, became a realtor in 2006 and has received the Delaware Today Five Star Real Estate Award for the past three years. She is well known for her newsletter The Local Buzz, which lets everyone know what’s happening at the beach. In addition to being a founding member of Eating Rehoboth food tours, Griffin pens a vegetarian column for RehobothFoodie.com and is an active member of the Rehoboth Beach Writers' Guild.  Griffin and her team support the Sussex Consortium, Cape Henlopen School District's program for children with disabilities.

Realtor Bill Peiffer, associate broker, has been a local for the past 38 years, and a realtor for the past 30. He has been a national award winner for numerous years, selling in the top 3 to 5 percent in a national network of over 65,000 agents. He and his partner, Tony Mongello, became one of the area’s first teams. Peiffer's personal goal is to surpass a customer’s expectations, make him a client for life, and provide seamless, stress-free transactions in as little time as possible.

Realtor Tony Mongello has practiced real estate for the past 23 years and has served on the local association’s Education/Professional Development Committee for the past seven. A consistent award-winning sales associate nationally, he too has performed in the top 3 to 5 percent out of a network of over 65,000 agents. Honesty, professionalism, and knowledge have placed Mongello among the best and most experienced agents in the Rehoboth Beach area.

Realtor Kim Hitchens, general manager, is a Delaware native and veteran Listing & Buyers Specialist since 2000. She has received the Delaware Today Five Star Real Estate Award for the past five years. Hitchens is fortunate to work with many repeat clients, and she ensures that every detail is in place prior to settlement.
