April 2, 2015

A black enameled and numbered Delaware license tag C9955 will be among five items to be auctioned off at the upcoming ELVIS! event at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 24, at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. The license plate was newly-issued for this event by the Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles. Proceeds from the event and auction benefit the Lewes Public Library.

Richard Bryan of Lewes will be the auctioneer for evening. Other items to be auctioned off include an inshore fishing trip for up to six anglers on board the 50 foot Ocean City Girl; a weekend in Lewes including an overnight stay, brunch and dinner at one of Lewes’ finest eateries; two original paintings by Lewes artist Howard Schroeder; and a golf package for four.

There will also be silent auction items available for bidding, including a basket of fresh produce and greens, grown locally at Black Hog Farm. This produce basket will be filled weekly, from May 15 through September 18.

Pre-event bids will also be accepted for the license plate by calling Terri Colegrove at 302-644-0108. Credit card information must be submitted for all pre-auction bidding. Fewer than 50 tickets remain for the event, which features a buffet, cash bar and performance by renowned Elvis impersonator Jesse Garron for $60.

Tickets will remain on sale until April 15 at the Lewes Public Library and online at leweslibrary.ticketleap.com.

Proceeds from the event and auction will benefit the new Lewes Public Library.
