Chakra Saturday - Chakra One, Muladhara

- Private group -
January 2, 2016

The word chakra, from ancient Sanskrit , means " wheel or circle. " this refers to the vortices of energy in the body.

There is a lot of information out there about the seven main chakras and whether they are in balance or out of balance. The good news is that a complete yoga practice sequencing the whole spine will balance all of the chakras.

This week we begin with Chakra One, the root chakra  named Muladhara in Sanskrit, which means "foundation or support.” Located at the base of the spine, it is affected by poses for the tailbone.

This chakra governs the physical body. Spending time quietly in nature is a wonderful way to smooth or enhance the flow, connecting to the earth is grounding  for this chakra. Balance all of the chakras in every class for a balanced life.

Do more yoga.
