Morris Henry Schultz, 'ice cream consumer'

Morris Henry Schultz, 79, of Greenwood, formerly of Severn, Md., passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown. He was born in Severn, Oct. 8, 1935, son of the late Morris F. and Elizabeth M. (Crause) Schultz.

Mr. Schultz proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-58. After his honorable discharge, Mr. Schultz made a career in the retail food industry. First with Acme Grocery chain in Annapolis, Md., and then 30-plus years of dedicated service with Giant Foods, working in various locations across Anne Arundel County in Maryland. Mr. Schultz would embark on a second career, owning and operating the Shore Kleen Chimney Sweep in Denton, Md. Although he was a tireless worker, Mr. Schultz would retire in 1997, relocating to the Seaford area, passing on his chimney sweep business to his son.

In Delaware, Mr. Schultz enjoyed many different pastimes, including camping, jousting and his membership with the Eastern Shore Jousting Association. He loved taking care of his quarter horse Cody, and his best canine friend Buddy. Mr. Schultz took many trips across the country in his RV, and loved experiencing a variety of foods and cultures. He especially loved eating ice cream.

While residing in the Maryland area, he was a member of the Lions Club in Ridgley and Baptist Church in Denton, where he enjoyed volunteering. Most recently, Mr. Schultz attended First Baptist Church in Milford, and was a member the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 534 in Harrington.

Mr. Schultz was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and a dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Schultz was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie; a son Daniel Schultz on May 15; and a stepson, Greg Wheeler.

He is survived by his longtime companion of 16 years, Sara J. Wheeler; three sons: Morris "Rick" F. Schultz II and his wife Elizabeth of Pasadena, Md., Thomas H. Schultz and his wife Julie of Ridgley, and Sam Schultz and his daughter Madalynn of Martinsburg, W.Va.; four grandsons: Morris F. "Trey" Schultz III and his wife Brittney of Glen Burnie, Md., Nicholas A. Schultz and his wife Kellee of Queenstown, Md., Thomas H. Schultz III of Ridgeley, and Robert D. Schultz of Grasonville, Md.; two granddaughter, Janine A-L Schultz and Tina Williams; a grandson, Randy Akers; many great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Joddi Akers of Crownsville, Md., Cheli Massey and her children, Slater and Brooke Massey; Angela Wheeler; a stepson, Rick McCullough and his children, Amanda and Samantha McCullough; and a sister, Mary Meyers of Annapolis, Md.

A Celebration of Mr. Schultz's Life will be held Monday, July 20, at noon, at First Baptist Church of Milford, 6062 Old Shawnee Road, Milford. Interment will be at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery, Glen Burnie.
