Costumed dog parade set Oct. 25 in Rehoboth

The Best Costumed Dog Contest sponsored by Rehoboth Beach Animal Hospital is set for Sunday, Oct. 25, when dogs and owners will parade down the Boardwalk. Line-up begins at 2 p.m. Dogs and their owners will register on Lakeview Avenue, next to the Henlopen Hotel, where they will receive their entry number and parade ribbon. The registration fee is $5 per dog. All registered participants will line up at the north end of the Boardwalk. Judging begins at 2:30 p.m.

The monsters wag their way down the Boardwalk beginning at 3 p.m. The parade will proceed south on the Boardwalk from the Henlopen Hotel to Funland at Delaware Avenue where it will disperse.

The Top 30 Judge’s Favorite entries will return to the Rehoboth Bandstand at 4 p.m. where they will be showcased on stage and receive prizes donated by Tail Bangers.

Floats and wagons must remain on the Boardwalk, and only leashed or carried pets will be received on the stage. No livestock, wild animals or reptiles are permitted in the contest.
