Michael John Pelrine, former restaurant owner

Michael John Pelrine, 57, of Dover, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at home.  Mr. Pelrine was born Sept. 25, 1958, in Niskayuna, N.Y., to Mildred Jorgensen Pelrine and the late William P. Pelrine Sr.

He was the office manager and director of business development for Fantini Research, and had been the owner and operator of Beseme Restaurant in Lewes, from 2005-12. Mr. Pelrine graduated from C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Southwest Texas State University where he studied journalism. He joined the Delaware State News as a reporter in 1987 and progressed to editor, managing editor, vice president/editorial and ultimately vice president of special projects before leaving in 2006 to open his restaurant Beseme in Lewes.

He enjoyed reading, camping, music and spending time with friends and family. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tamra Brittingham, in 2010.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred Pelrine of Jensen Beach, Fla.; stepson, Eban Brittingham of Lewes; siblings, William Pelrine Jr. of Schenectady, N.Y., Stephen Pelrine and his wife Betsy of Syracuse, N.Y., Christopher Pelrine and his wife Katie of Akron, Ohio, and Peg McLaughlin and her husband Jim of Temecula, Calif.; as well as one niece and four nephews.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held at a later date.
