Artist Catherine Czerwinski and the residents of Burton Village Apartments in Rehoboth Beach unveiled a mural painted on one of the dumpster enclosures at the complex Oct. 29.
Czerwinski worked with volunteers from CAMP Rehoboth, CAMP Rehoboth Outreach Program, 4-H children of the development, and residents to design, sketch, and paint the mural.
The design was based on suggestions from the residents of the complex. RE/MAX Realty Group in Rehoboth donated funds to support this project.
DSHA Director Anas Ben Addi said, “We thank the artist and all the partners for this initiative. DSHA and Burton Village residents are blessed to have such an engaged and caring community, and we look forward to working together on future projects.”
Burton Village Apartments is owned and managed by the Delaware State Housing Authority.
Czerwinski’s education includes Clemson University and Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy. She has done artwork in many areas of the world, including Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Canada, Sweden, Guam, Delaware and Florida.
